I am reviewing the colors Wine Not and Bitten. These are very reasonably priced lipsticks, in elegant black packaging. I tend to prefer simple packaging on superior products, than fancy packaging on poor products (see my review for Shiseido's Perfect Rouge lipstick, my one high end splurge, that was sadly disappointing). This MF lipstick is superb. It is very creamy and opaque, doesn't bleed into lines, feels very comfortable, and lasts fairly long for a lipstick that is not matte or specifically long wear. It leaves a stain, particularly the Wine shade, which increases the longevity of the product on the lips. The Wine shade is fairly deep plummy red, which I apply as a very light coat with a lip brush or almost as a sheer stain with a fingertip. I have very fair olive skin, brown eyes and dark ash brown hair with a lot of grey. I look fine with a heavier application of this Wine color, but I am not USED to such an intense look. On other more daring people who wear cool colors, the look is just really fancy and glamorous. A more sheer application suits me and is very lovely. This color is a true cream with no frost or shimmer. The Bitten color is a cool, rosy blue based pink, tending towards rosy purple, if that makes sense. It has a lovely shimmer. Usually I do not like shimmer at all, but it works in this lipstick, as it is subtle. It has less of a stain than the Wine color, which is to be expected, I think, in a lighter shade. It is rather sad that this line, so I have heard, will soon no longer be available in the US. I have not tried too many MF products, but the loss of a really excellent, inexpensive lipstick is sad. If there were a few more neutral colors in the line, I would have hoarded them as I have read others have done before they are all gone. Incidentally: I got both my lipsticks for $5 each on clearance at Walmart. Two great lipsticks for less than what you would pay for a high end brand that would likely be an inferior product anyway. Price does not equal quality, to be sure. Get yours before they are gone.

Why does a brand always have to be moved overseas or discontinued before we start hoarding it? Well I am doing just that with these lipsticks. I want the shade "Ablaze" for Halloween so bad, I can hardly stand it. I am on a hunt for these before they go out. They are good lipsticks in unusual shades.

I bought a tube of this in #48 when I found out Max Factor was being discontinued in the US.
I had never tried MF lipstick, but this is wonderful, high-quality stuff. The color I bought is a cheerful pinky-purple. It feels so smooth and creamy...and it really does last 3 to 4 hours. It's just as good, if not better, as dept. store lipstickes for only 1/3 of their price.
I wish Max Factor was not being discontinued!

I bought Pin-up Pink (#4) after I heard that Max Factor was being discounitinued. I'm very happy with this lipstick; it is a cotton candy, cool pink but is sooo bright! (Sweetart is another pink but with more orange undertones.) You just need a little bit for this to show up. I feel a little self-concious when I wear this in public, but the color cools down after a while. It lasts for several hours, too (3-4) without touch ups. I'm looking forward to repurchasing more of these lipsticks before they get pulled (how sad)!

I don't wear lipstick. Ever. I want to, though. So I decided I'd set out to find a nice nude lipstick to go with the eye makeup that I wore today. I browsed the aisles of a few stores then found this on clearance at Wal-Mart. I got color 20 which is a lovely slight frosted mauve. On my lips it is a fantastic nude that goes very well with my NW20 skin. It's moisturizing and long lasting. I'm surprisingly quite pleased with this.

Hands down the best lipstick I have ever used! Creamy, pigmented, moisturizing, long lasting beautiful color. I have Las Vegas Baby and Ms. Terious and both are wonderful neutrals. I always have a huge problem with neutrals, they leave me looking washed out and sick looking with my blonde hair (and lashes and eyebrows!) and blue eyes. Vegas baby is a little more of a warm neutral, a unique mix between a peachy coral and pinky brown. It brightens my face and looks very natural, instead of the usual crypt keeper nudes that I have tried. Ms. Terious is a soft pinky brown and is the same tone as my lips, just a couple of shades darker, which is perfect! Unfortunately, I am having a harder and harder time finding Max Factor products. Walmart was the only place locally that was carrying it but they have it all clearanced now. I am going to order several tubes of each lipstick online because there is NO WAY I am going to be out of this lipstick. I have spent waaaaay to much money, tried too many lipsticks that had crappy color, texture, smell, pigment etc etc. to not have this product on hand. Why do they always mess with products that everyone likes? Why can't they take a few minutes and come onto MakeupAlley to see how much (or conversly how little...there are so many products that should just not be on the market!) we love them? So frustrating! But if you find any of these lipsticks, I highly suggest that you pick it up and give it a try, it is amazing!

There must be something special about these because there aren't very many colors. Let me say this is the best lipstick I've ever tried. I love this formula. The color also lasts a long time. I apply them over a lip balm. They are highly pigmented, so they look darker in the package than they do on your lips. I like Ms. Understood more than Pin-up pink, the latter is a highly pigmented bright pink that may look pretty on some but just washes out my pale complexion. Ms. Right is a perfect old-fashioned red, not too orange, not too blue. It's very red. You could wear this with white powder like old Hollywood. There is also Ms. Right Now, which is brighter and more orange. Vegas Baby is a surprising color that looks beige or gold next to my skin. Bitten gives me the perfect winter-bitten look. It's probably my favorite color of all of them. Hipster is so cool! Let me say that again. COOL. It is a dark purple, reminding me of Bitten, but more like you've been in ice water rather than just having bitten your lips. Ms. Terious is a nice medium neutral that looks purple in the container. I like it. Reminds me of Vegas Baby in that it's so neutral, yet blue toned. Ms. Behave is a bright orange-pink shade. It's like Pin-up pink, but more in the yellow spectrum. It's a nice flesh shade. Odd thing, there's no name on the packages. Not even on the bottom. Just on the plastic that comes on it. Hmm...

Max Factor - check him out on Wikipedia. He actually coined the word makeup and brought the glamor of Hollywood and the Russian Royal Ballet to the rest of us. Max Factor lipsticks are classic and have been chosen by women around the world for about a century! If they are pulled from US markets, I'll order them from Europe. HG. Must have.

Max Factor did not fail to impress me again. I have this in #20 which is a soft pinky brown nude. I love nude lipsticks that doesn't wash me out. The color went on smoothly and very creamy. It stays put better than a gloss but sometimes you need to reapply. Good pigmentation and nice formulation from MF. Too bad all over Duane Reade I couldn't find it but had to order it from Ulta.com. Good choice.

I saw an ad tooting the wonderfulness of this lipstick (and the color sex kitten) so I figured I would give it a whirl.
This lipstick is HG material ladies. It goes on creamy and light, it has great lasting power, and the moisturizing is divine.
I bought Sex Kitten (it's a lovely golden coral, I was dubious, but it looks gorgeous with a tan)
and #80 Gilty Rose - It is freaking gorgeous on me a deep warm rose (that red with just a bit of pink), and I LOVE that I can blot it for lighter coverage or really vamp it up with a stronger application (too many lipsticks either look too heavy or too light)
It feels like lip balm almost, no heavy waxy feel, and it seriously knocks MAC right out of the boat.
Don't you love it when you find something awesome at a drugstore?? (ok or the drugstore section at ULTA)

Add me to the list of ladies who are in love with this lipstick! I found a Max Factor display at Walmart (after searching every other store in town) -- I wanted to buy my fave mascara (Volume Couture) -- and I spotted these lippies. I bought Vegas, Baby and I just adore it! The name is a misnomer...there is nothing daring or glam about this shade. On me, it's a warm neutral...MLBB. Very pretty and work-appropriate. The texture is amazing! It's soft, precise, creamy & long-lasting -- what more could you want? As others have noted, I didn't even need a liner with this product. I will definitely be trying other shades in this line. I have my eye on Ms. Terious.... continued >>

What a great lipstick!! It's not as creamy as I would like it to be, but it's highly pigmented and I love the color selections. I would say this is a meduim coverage lipstick. I bought this at Kmart for around $7 I think.

This lipstick is definitely vivid because it shows up very well on my lips. It only takes one or two light swipes to get full coverage. I've been eyeing "Vegas, Baby" for quite a while but I never got around to purchasing it because it leaned towards the pricier side of drugstore cosmetics (around 7 or 8 dollars). I absolutely love this shade! I've been searching forever for a perfect natural-looking nude. I can never wear nude lip colors since they always make me look so dead, especially if it has a beige undertone. And if it's not too beige, it's usually too pink or peach. I cannot describe exactly what "Vegas, Baby" looks like, but all I know is that it's perfection! It's a wonderful pinky nude that goes well with dark, smokey eyes. The black packaging is great. I only wish that it would last longer (hence the 4 lippies rating)!!

What great lipsticks!!!!! I have this in ablaze, which is a beautiful orangey red that looks fabulous with my warm coloring. It's bright, but not garish and the formula is creamy and surprisingly long lasting. LOVE THESE!

I got this lipstick in the shade "Pin up Pink" and it looked super cute Barbie pink in the tube. I was excited to try it and when I did, it was wayyyy too bright! Don't take the name "VIVID IMPACT" lightly...this stuff has quite an impact! Other than the crazy bright color that did NOT work with my skin tone, this lipstick is super moisturizing and does not smell like the typical old womanly smell of most lippies. Won't repurchase but maybe it will be a good color for others. Oh by the way, this lipstick is kinda pricey for a d/s brand (9 dollars at CVS!)

Great drugstore lipstick--up there with Revlon SL. Creamy yet very smooth, gloss-like feeling. I got Ms.Terious, a MLBB medium pinky-brown. Leaves a slight stain, which is nice.

Heard so many great reviews on this line that I had to try it. I bought 3 colors: #72 which is a light nude pink, #28 Rose Rage, which is a deeper pink; and #44 Ms Right, which is a red w/blue undertones for my olive skin. The pigments for each are intense and the colors go on beautifully. It does apply different than how the packaging represents. I went to Ulta to try them out. They are not drying, they do stay on longer than your typical drugstore brand lipstick and they mix w/other lipsticks well to offer a totally different than expected color. You can definitely have fun w/just applying it or mixing w/the colors you already have at home.
